“If the world hates you, keep in
mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as
its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of
the world. That is why it hates you.”
God’s ways and the ways of the world
are two totally different things. Yet, often times we forget this when we are
faced with the alternative of being rejected by the world. We do this –watch movies
we normally would not, listen to music we normally would not, even act in a way
that is not pleasing to God—to gain acceptance, admiration, and love from this
world. In doing so, however, we reject the only person who can truly loves us.
All of the people we do these things to impress will eventually pass away.
Their love will fail. To be hated by this world is to be loved by the Creator.
