1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is an Action"

Valentine’s brings with it all of the declarations of love between two people in a relationship. However, are these declarations what we should be looking for in a relationship? 1 Corinthians gives us a list of the attributes of true love: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” Just stop for a moment and ask yourself, “What am I looking for?” whether it is in a relationship you are currently in, or in a relationship you are looking for. Then ask yourself, “Am I showing these attributes to the people I love?” Love is more than just a lovey-dovey feeling and butterflies in your stomach. Love is an action.
