Titus 2:11-14 "Eager to Do Good"

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope –the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”

We are a people set apart from the wickedness of the world. We are Christ’s very own people, set apart and purified so that we might do what is good. His grace He showed us by dying on the cross to redeem us teaches us to refuse to give in to the evil desires of our flesh, guiding us to live godly, upright lives following the Lord instead of lines of passion. We are to live self-controlled lives, free from the whims that govern the sinful nature, instead living loving and serving others instead of ourselves. Then we live our lives in a way that truly matters. Then we become eager to do what is good.
